Following on from my recent piece regarding Chemical Skin Peeling, I have asked a few of my clients to share their experiences with these treatments to give you a better understanding of how these treatments might fit into your skincare regime.

TR is a 44 year old male city worker who opted for the Perfect Peel with booster. The Perfect Peel is the ‘strongest’ peel treatment we offer here. It is intended as a single treatment, although for more problematic skin, it may require further treatments to achieve the desired result. The ‘booster’ is a solution added to intensify the peel.

What was your treatment for?

I had some brown patches on my face following my holiday and was just looking for a general anti ageing treatment.

How did the treatment feel at the time?  

It felt quite hot on my face, but I had opted to have the peel solution with the booster which I was advised would make it a more intense experience.

Can you remember how it looked / felt in the days following your treatment?

My skin went through different phases, first of all it was darker for a couple of days, peeling started on the 2nd day, then my face was red, by day 7 I was looking back to normal.

How did you feel about the results?

I was very happy and confident with how my skin looked. I would definitely recommend the treatment.  

LB is a 26 year old office worker & student who has been having a course of pH formula peels, these are mild resurfacing treatments which can be tailored for problems such as acne, rosacea, sun damage or just a general freshen up.

What was your treatment for?

Acne scarring!  

How did the treatment feel at the time?

Slight tingling and hot sensation but does not last for long at all – It’s well worth the charcoal mask afterwards.  

Can you remember how it looked / felt in the days following your treatment?

After 3 peels now – my general routine is a day of redness (maybe 2), then that calms down and I have a few days of dry / peeling face, which is more than controllable with the creams provided. 

How did you feel about the results?

Having had quite bad skin – I think the scarring is definitely improving! Happy days!  

This next lady is a 29 year old who opted for our pH Formula TCA peel – milder than the Perfect Peel but a step up from pH formula – we often recommend 2 of these with 1 month in between.  

What was your treatment for? 

To minimise acne scars and prevent new spots. 

How did the treatment feel at the time? 

A tingly and hot at some areas of my face, but nothing very uncomfortable / unbearable, only last a couple of minutes overall.

Can you remember how it looked / felt in the days following your treatment?  

I wasn’t red or anything, however my skin kept peeling for about 5-7 days in different parts of my face, but totally manageable with moisturiser.

How did you feel about the results? 

Overall quite satisfied, I feel that other sessions are needed for better results, but I did get compliments this past week on my skin condition!  

CM a 31 year old who had a pH formula peel.

What was your treatment for?  

Acne.

How did the treatment feel at the time?  

During the treatment I felt very relaxed. While in process, Elizabeth explained step by step what she was applying to my skin and how I might feel. I personally did not feel any itchiness or side effects.

Can you remember how it looked / felt in the days following your treatment?

My skin was a little dry after the treatment, but after four days it was smooth and glowing. Almost flawless!

How did you feel about the results?

I was very happy and confident on how my skin looked. I would definitely recommend the treatment. 

This 62 year old lady opted for a Perfect Peel.

What was your treatment for?

Skin improvement.

Can you remember how it felt at the time?

It was quite hot when being applied but not uncomfortable that lasted very briefly and then it cooled down to be comfortably warm.

Can you remember how it looked / felt in the days following your treatment?

This is pretty much from memory.  The first day I did not notice anything I would say days two and three there was a small amount of peeling it was probably on days 4, 5 and 6 that the skin really started coming off and then day 7 it was back to normal.

How did you feel about the results?

I was really pleased.  Once the peeling stopped my skin seemed to be much brighter than before.
