Aesthetics Awards Finalists

Exciting news!

Majorly exciting news from me this week – I am so so delighted to share with you that we have been nominated as a Finalist in not one, but two categories of The Aesthetics Awards, 2019.

This is in fact our fifth year for nominations.

We are once again overwhelmed at being nominated amongst such prestigious clinics and practiioners. Our categories are voted by a panel and not by the public so we will not be asking for your votes but you can rest assured we will be spamming you with recurrent reminders and generally basking in our glow of joy so please bear with us over the next couple of months!

With that news in mind I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself and my journey to this point in time.

Five years ago my partner and I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and set up a clinic offering skin and holistic health treatments. So I packed away my trolley dolly that I used for my mobile clinics and set down roots in Whitecross Street.

The street is situated between Barbican and Old Street so it’s very accessible. It is a quirky mix of old and new with an urban feel. Home to the official cobblers for Christian Louboutin, an art gallery owned by the youngest female curator in the UK and a bustling food market from Monday – Friday, Whitecross Street is as yet a street unspoilt by the usual high street suspects.

It is a very friendly street. It is a bit like working on Albert Square (in a good way). There is a pub on the street which is typically filled with market traders, local residents and those who work in or near the street, everybody knows everybody. That is the vibe that we wanted at the clinic so we set that up. We wanted it to be that place a bit like the Cheers bar where you come in, where everybody knows your name.

We rent clinical space to health affiliated practitioners. Five years on we have an amazing collaboration of independent practitioners. Working as an independent practitioner means that you are always on your “A” game. There is no place to hide and no one to hide behind, if you give your client a great experience, they will be back, if not there are no second chances. So that is the ethos of 193 Whitecross Street.

With regards to our skin services, we do not have much in the way of fancy machines. We do all of the injectables, we do a range of medical facials. We offer reliable, predictable treatments with low downtime and low risk.

Me in a nutshell

I am first and foremost a nurse with over twenty years’ experience.

I did my nurse training at Barts.

I am 45 years old.

Yes, I do have lots of different treatments! My favourites are botox, filler, peels….

I have been with my partner for 27 years and we married last year.

I have no children and no plans to have any.

I started training in the gym aged 16 and it still provides me with an outlet for stress.

My life’s ambition is to have two boxer dogs.

I love art, fashion and music although I am not knowledgeable about any of these.

I have been in aesthetics for 9 years.

I have had my own clinic for 5 years.

I rent space in my clinic to practitioners offering affiliated holistic health treatments.

I strongly believe in a direct connection between body and mind, sanity and vanity, look good, feel good!
