This question came from a lady in her 60’s who has had several treatments with us. This lady only started having injectable treatments in the last four years. We saw her for the first time in 2019 when she kicked off her injectables journey with some Botox.
This lady, a former nurse, has a beautiful face with kind happy eyes and the kind of aura that draws people towards her. She had moderate volume loss, just as you would expect age wise, with some deep static lines around the crow’s feet and across the cheeks (no doubt exacerbated by years of smiling).
At this point in time, having had no previous treatment at all, she would likely be looking at needing a multi syringe and multi layered treatment package in order to really make any headway with the changes in her skin.
She wasn’t keen to add volume to her face or to look ‘different’. She wasn’t prepared to make the required financial investment that would really help to impact some of the volume loss and deep static lines.
What she wanted, was something very subtle, something that would make her feel better about herself, soften some of the signs of ageing and give her skin a bit of radiance that she felt was lost.

So, anyway, at her recent visit this lady tells me she’s considering Volite because it’s just a single treatment and she wondered if I thought Volite was better than Profhilo.
She then proceeds to tell me all the ways in which she benefited from Profhilo and how much she loves it – easy recovery, improvement in lines across the cheeks & around the eyes and a general glow that results in people around her to commenting on how well she looks..
So is Volite better than Profhilo?
Here’s what I told her. I like Volite, in particular to target areas that can be hard to treat and when the client is looking to avoid Botox and or filler. Typically these areas would be very close to the lips – smokers lines, or very close to the eyes – tear trough or just papery crepey skin in that area.
My personal experience is that Profhilo packs more punch and lasts longer.
One of the drawbacks with all skin boosters is the longevity of results – in other words how long they last for.
Profhilo has a proven slightly improved staying power.
Added to that, in this particular situation the lady in question had described experiencing all the benefits of a good skin booster treatment and therefore had already told me that she really didn’t stand anything to gain by switching to the unknown.
