1. What are the benefits of Botox?
Botox is a ‘prescription only’ medication. It has so many different uses across the body. For the face, its main use is to prevent deep wrinkles and lines from settling in, however it can also be used in the face to reduce sweating and pore size. Botox in the face can help with realxing the jaw muscles to prevent teeth grinding, imrpoving a gummy smile and enhancing the look of a cobble stone chin.
2. What accredication should I look for?
Botox is a prescibed medicine, so it should be administered to you by someone who has the ability to prescribe medications, such as a prescribing nurse or a doctor. Look for accreditations like ‘Save Face’ or ‘CQC’ registration.
3. What risks are there for Botox?
There are risks asscoiated with every single treatement and Botox is no different. The common risks are really minor and easy to deal with, as long as you know what to expect. Redness and swelling will typically only last for a few hours. Bruising may last a little longer but will be very slight if it occurs at all. Occasionally, especially with your first treatment, there may be a minor asymmetry which can be adressed at your follow up appointment. There is a whole long list of other possible effects which are really unusual. On the whole Botox is really well tolerated and problem free.
4. Are there different types of Botox?
Botox is in itself, a brand name. This is the product of choice at LPA because we feel that it conveys quality and means that we are giving you exactly what you think we are. Bocouture, Azzalure and Xeomin are other well known and well thought of brands.
5. How long does Botox last?
Typically Botox lasts around 3 months. This result can be slightly longer lived in treatments for sweating or relaxing the jaw muscle but for facial fine lines and wrinkles, around 3 months is the normal duration.

6. Is Botox painful?
Botox is administered using a super fine needle. This means the treatment is very comfortable. When having treatment for the first time, we find that most people are shocked that the whole process is complete because they hardly felt a thing.
7. Sweating
Botox is a super effective treatment to stop sweating. If you suffer with excessively sweaty armpits, you will likely have tried many of the products available to help with the problem and discovered that they are either ineffective or effective but with intolerable side effects.
