A recent study has suggested the idea that men and women may be predisposed to the idea of cosmetic treatments according their star signs. Rosa Derriviere, a well known UK based pyschic who has worked for SKY TV amongst other accolades, has worked with a London based cosmetic surgery group to try to determine if there was any truth in the hyposthesis that people born under specific star signs are more predisposed to having cosmetic treatments than others. Together they looked at clients from a 3 month period of time and sorted them according to their star signs.
The findings showed that 43% of the clients in that time frame were born in April, May September and October. These months cover the star signs of Taurus and Libra. The treatments carried out in order of popularity were breast augmentation (18% of recipents being Cancerians), wrinkle reduction injections and dermal fillers. Rosa believes that the reason Taureans and Librans feature so strongly in the study is that these signs are ruled by Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. Astrologically, Venus is associated with harmony, beauty and balance, so these signs would have a natural disposition to wanting to look and feel beautiful. According to Rosa the areas of the body governed by star signs, result in a focus on that particular body part.
For example Cancer governs the breast, so therefore Cancerians will be most interested in breast surgery. Similarly, Aries governs the face and nose, so Aries are more likely to be interested in facial treatments. There are many celebrity Librans that have had cosmetic treatments, including Simon Cowell, Michael Douglas, Kim Kardashian, Catherine Zeta Jones, Danni Minogue and Sharon Osbourne. There are also Taurean celebrities that have had treatments, including Janet Jackson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Cher. Whatever your views about astrology and its effect on our behaviours and experiences, one can assume that people’s career choices might also have an influence on their decision to have treatment. Those who work in the public eye are regularly photographed, so might want to look and feel their best at all times.
Recently the Evening Standard published an article about male lawyers in the city who feel under the spotlight in the courtroom, having wrinkle reduction injections to improve their overall presentation. Working erratic hours, which can disturb sleeping and eating patterns, wil play havoc with your skin. Whether you are working in the media or living a more 'ordinary' life, personal presentation is more important than ever. Chemical skin peels, wrinkle reduction injections and dermal fillers all help towards rejuvenating the skin and giving it a more youthful appearance.
